Hello. I wanted to get my husband a GPS for Christmas but know nothing about them. A store circular has a few on sale. TomTom GPS ONE 130 or Garmin Nuvi 205 3.5″ are the cheapest so I was wondering what one was better. He’s pretty good at directions and finding things. For me, I’d like a feature that if you were looking for a specific store for example and typed in the name, they can help you locate one. Please let me know your opinions on both and what unique feature they have if you own one. Thanks so much!

Does your gps have a jack for a headset or external speakers? If so, just plug into your stereo’s aux input.

Garmin Vector Offers Cyclists the First Ever Power Pedals with Left/Right Balance

The Garmin Vector power pedals offer cyclists a completely unique and new technology and were identified as the best new technology for 2011 from the Cycling News Reader’s Poll together with one caveat; they will not be available until March of 2012. When they arrive they will revolutionize how power output is measured for cyclists according to the Heart Rate Watch Company.
The real story is the unique left/right power balance that tells cyclists if leg power is equalized or out of balance as well as where the power is in the pedal stroke. None of the current power systems on the market today offer this feature.

Look for the best price on either. It looks like the TomTom maps are cheaper than the Garmin. Each one has update service though, and come with maps, so it may come down to price and aesthetics.

I have used the Garmin brand for about 10 months so far and it is very accurate and they have a great customer service department if you need help.

They are all about the same for accuracy and also have almost equal functionality.
The biggest difference you will find between them is the price and user interface. If you’re looking to purchase a new GPS you shouldn’t worry about the brand too much and go with one that has a good price with the features you’re looking for.
